Clarifying the message

Before design starts, we identify the purpose of the document or presentation, the intended audience, the approval route and the level of detail required. This helps determine whether the content needs a report structure, a visual narrative, a presentation flow, a data-led treatment or a more direct production approach.

Building hierarchy

Information-heavy content needs clear hierarchy. We use typography, spacing, section structure, colour, tables, charts, callouts and infographics to help readers understand what matters first, what supports it and where to go next.

Supporting live and iterative content

Reports and presentations are often reviewed by multiple stakeholders and can change late in the process. We can work with marked-up PDFs, Word files, Excel tables, supplied charts, draft decks and evolving copy, while keeping version control clear and flagging where late changes may affect timing, accuracy or cost.

Designing for output

A report for print, a PDF for download, a board presentation and an event deck each need different production decisions. We prepare files for the required end use, including print-ready PDFs, digital PDFs, PowerPoint files, packaged artwork and supplier handover files where required.

Accessibility and review

For digital documents, we can support accessibility-conscious production including heading hierarchy, tagged PDFs, alt text, reading-order checks and Acrobat accessibility tools. Where formal WCAG 2.2 AA assurance or independent validation is required, we can involve a specialist accessibility reviewer with client approval.
