In collaboration with Spear Media Ltd and Zephyr Projects, we were asked to design and produce the pilot version of the Annabel's magazine, for Annabel's (the private members club).
Intended as a glossy magazine to include fashion and life style articles and complimented with advertising that matched this lifestyle choice – predominently focused around the club and the members themselves.
Annabel's would be designed and published annually and distributed exclusively to its 25000 members world wide.
Our primary focus was to produce an engaging and memorable front cover, that was exactingly designed with minimal text and clutter.
The pilot edition of Annabel's 2004 was to focus on 'Fashion Week', and so Grant Sainsbury was commissioned to do the photoshoot of Camilla Rutherford (wearing Vivienne Westwood), which provided us with the front cover image and subsiquent inside spreads.
Branding was supplied in the form of the Annabel's logo in a low resolution file format, so we undertook recreating the logo artwork, which accompanies the front cover and India Jane Birley's letter inside the magazine.
Typsetting, layout and design were treated strictly to ensure neatness and consistency, whilst still allowing for a pleasant, easy read.
Photographs were retouched and recoloured as and where necessary.
A massive success with the Annabels' members and club, which has resulted in the continuation of the magazine in successive years.
Advertising in the magazine proved popular and increased 3 fold by the second (2005) edition.
